Family Literacy Night - January 24, 2023 6:30 - 7:30 pm
Good morning BK families!
I would like to take this opportunity to officially invite you all to our Family Literacy Night being held on Tuesday, January 24th from 6:30 - 7:30pm. This will be a fun night for all ages showcasing the amazing activities we are doing at BK to support your child in Literacy!
GSACRD has been on a Literacy journey since the Spring of 2021; joining forces with Dr. George Georgiou from the University of Alberta to increase reading levels in children who were impacted by COVID. Dr. Georgiou has been instrumental in the new English Language Arts and Literacy curriculum that Alberta schools are currently following, using the research based method of the Science of Reading.

We are blessed to welcome Dr. Georgiou to our BK Family Literacy Night on Tuesday evening, as he will share with you the significance of the work we are doing and the importance of Literacy in life.
The evening will consist of an intro by Dr. Georgiou, an Indigenous book reading by the grade 2 students, and Literacy games led by our division 2 students for all to enjoy.
Come out and enjoy some family time and some SNACKS!
