June Council Meeting
Your School Council will be holding their June meeting on Thursday, June 18th at 6:30pm. This will be our final meeting for the 2019-2020 school year. The meeting will be held from the safety of our homes using the Google Meet platform. We hope you will stay for the Friends of BK meeting after the School Council meeting adjourns.
If you are able to attend, please send an email to bkschoolcouncil@gmail.com to register. An email will be sent out to all registered participants on Thursday afternoon with the link to the meeting.
We look forward to connecting with parents and staff one last time before the school year wraps up!

BK Rustic Sign Night - at Home Edition!
BK School Council will be running a sign painting event that will take place from the
safety of your home with a DIY take and make kit!
Due to COVID-19, we have had to cancel our in-person rustic sign night at BK. Instead,
we will be instructing the workshop via Facebook Live on the BK School Council
Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/bkbobkats/ .
Facebook Live will take place on June 19th at 7 pm. There will be a video available for future reference if the scheduled time does not work for you as well as step by step instructions emailed to all participants.
We are asking $25 for each kit plus any donation you would like to make. All proceeds
will go back to the school to be used towards a year-end wind-up or welcome back
celebration dependent on AHS recommendations at the time.
In each kit you will get:
-one 13”x13” rustic signboard (made using old barn floorboards)
-one stencil
-2 different colors of paint
-paint applicators
-step by step instruction on how to apply the stencil and paints.

Orders will be accepted until June 14th. Orders will be available for pickup on June 17th
in Lacombe Park. Pick up details will be emailed out to participants closer to the date.

BK GARDENING COMMITTEE - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
With spring in full bloom, BK School Council has decided to plant some pretty flowers at
the school. We are hoping you enjoy some natural beauty at the school, so please walk
or drive by and check them out !
The BK Gardening Committee needs your help watering our flower beds and some
newly planted trees throughout the summer, for our families to enjoy now and into the
next school year. If you can give us your gift of time, please email Kristina Dover your
name, cell number, email address, and the dates that you are available to volunteer.
The dates we need to cover are June 12 - Sept 5th. We try to give everyone a "block"
of 3-7 days to do some watering and weeding. It is also great to bring the kids to help
with the watering, and then afterwards they can play on the playgrounds (which are now
open!). We have a hose cart, along with a watering can, to make it easier to get around
the school.
Please email your availability to Kristina ( kristinabdover@shaw.ca ) by June 10 th, so that we can put a schedule together to email it out to parents.
